Homofuraneol is, to me, the single most 'realistic' sugar molecule in the perfumer's palette. It's not fenugreek as with Sugar Lactone, and it's not slightly light and fruity as with strawberry furanone or caramel acetate. Instead it is like pure melted caramel.
