Firmenich 954177
Fresh, floral, and herbaceous, with a smooth coumarinic background.
With around 50% linalyl acetate this lavender is incredibly bright.
Unlike the typical lavandula angustifolia profile which can have ketonic mushroom notes, Diva type is laser focussed in its aroma. Of all the lavender oils I've smelled in my time, this one perfectly captures the memory I have of running my hands along a lavender bush and squishing the flowers.
In a market where more and more lavender EOs are touched up or outright replaced with cheaper lavandin species (or true lavenders grown in "cheaper" countries), the origin of this oil matters. Not only is this material direct from a stalwart in excellence for naturals: it also now verified as originating from the newly-minted Absolue Pays de Grasse geographical area (though doesn't fall directly under the scope of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), being an EO rather than absolute)
