This absolute is so full of chlorophyll that you can even see the deep green spines of the stuff if you dilute the material down. And yet it is not a verdant sort of green, but a deep, murky, opaque greenery offered by Mate abs. 
 
Famous for its use in Yerba Mate, as well as numerous other South American drinks and medicinal products, Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is actually a species of Holly. 
 
In perfumery, it finds multiple uses, but one of the best and most well-known uses is in tobacco, hay, and tea creations where you want something a little bit grounding.
