Aldehyde C9 is less vomity and orangey than Aldehyde C8 (Octanal) and less sweaty/metallic/soapy than Aldehyde C10 and Aldehyde C11 and its extended family.
Although incorrect doses will still turn your formula into grandma's soap, little traces here and there do still work wonders and still have a place in modern perfumery. Obviously in citruses but also in florals (famously rose accords but elsewhere too)
Please don't think that because this material is inexpensive that you need to buy a lot of it. It's super powerful and most perfumers I know go through less than 10-30ml per year.
