Neo-damascone, saffron, Methyl Dihydrosafranate
 
As perfumers, any new damascone replacers should be welcomed with open arms. Don't expect this molecule to be a silver bullet, but do expect it to offer new facets: in this case the sharp, unripe, fruity part of eg. gamma or beta damascone. Chemically, it's the methyl version of a modified Ethyl Safranate, and as such is less stewed-spicy and more saffron.
