IFF's Oceanol (which I know more traditionally under the name Seamoss, which tbh I think is a better name; oceanol sounds like an off-brand Aquanal imo) is a relative of Veramoss with one fewer methyl group. This has a interesting but subtle effect: visually it transforms the light, powdery (but granular) quality of Veramoss into a fluffy powder with such levity that it almost seems to have no weight -- at all and yet in a composition adds a huge amount of fixation power and a freshness that persists from top to base.

This freshness is distinct from Calone, which can be tricky to handle at the best of times. Use Oceanol where you would usually use veramoss/Evernyl/Methyl Atarate but where you want an impression that is less phenolic and more briny.
